Not every fitness champion grows up as an athlete.

For many competitors, the journey begins on a sports field or inside a gym during their teenage years. For Kristie Hillier, it began much later—with uncertainty, a desire for change, and one decision that would completely alter the course of her life.

Today, Kristie is recognized as a Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Nutritionist, respected posing coach, and three-time Glamour World Champion. She has built a reputation within Ultimate Fitness Events (UFE) as one of the organization’s premier Glamour competitors while helping other women confidently prepare for the stage. Her transformation serves as a reminder that success in natural bodybuilding isn’t reserved for lifelong athletes—it can begin with anyone willing to take the first step.

A Late Start That Changed Everything

Kristie didn’t start her journey as someone who was always fit, nor did she have any athletic foundation.

Growing up, fitness simply wasn’t part of Kristie’s identity.

She didn’t participate in sports, rarely exercised, and had little understanding of structured training or nutrition. Throughout much of her twenties, she spent her time traveling, searching for direction while feeling increasingly disconnected from the healthy lifestyle she hoped to achieve.

Standing 5’6″ and weighing approximately 165 pounds, she found herself overwhelmed by conflicting advice surrounding weight loss, exercise, and healthy eating. Like many aspiring competitors across Ontario and Canada today, she wasn’t looking to become a champion—she was simply looking for a healthier version of herself.

Everything changed during the global pandemic.

While stranded overseas and isolated from friends and family, Kristie experienced one of the most difficult periods of her life. Rather than accepting that reality, she made a decision that countless successful fitness competitors eventually make: she asked for help.

Building the Foundation Before Building a Champion

In 2020, Kristie hired her first personal trainer.

There were no elaborate gym facilities or expensive equipment. Training consisted of one-on-one sessions twice each week in a local park using free weights. The simplicity of those workouts became the foundation for something much larger.

Over the course of the following year, she lost approximately 40 pounds.

More importantly, she developed consistent habits—structured training, improved nutrition, and a healthier mindset—that would become the cornerstones of her future success.

Rather than chasing rapid results or extreme dieting, Kristie discovered that sustainable progress came from consistency. That philosophy continues to define both her competitive career and the coaching methods she now shares with her clients.

One Goal: Step on Stage Before Turning 30

Kristie made an impressive debut at UFE Showdown 2023, winning her Novice division and placing in the top three in the Open category—setting the stage for even greater success.

Like many first-time competitors considering a natural bodybuilding show, Kristie set herself a single milestone.

She wanted to compete before her 30th birthday.

That goal led her to Ultimate Fitness Events (UFE), Canada’s leading drug-tested fitness and bodybuilding organization. Known for welcoming first-time competitors alongside seasoned professionals, UFE offers divisions that celebrate different physiques, including Fitness Model, Bikini, Figure, Glamour, Men’s Physique, Classic Physique, Bodybuilding, and more.

Kristie’s debut came in London, Ontario, in June 2023.

Instead of simply gaining valuable experience, she earned her first victory.

The momentum continued later that year when she stepped onto the stage at the UFE World Championships. On her 30th birthday, Kristie captured the Glamour World Championship title—a milestone that transformed a personal fitness journey into an international achievement.

Success Built Over Multiple Seasons

Kristie’s masterful stage presentation and genuine passion for competition has helped propel her to 3 UFE PRO World Championships

Competitive bodybuilding is rarely defined by a single event.

Over the next three years, Kristie competed in six UFE competitions, continually refining her presentation, confidence, and stage presence.

Her success extended beyond physique development.

Within the UFE community, she became widely recognized for exceptional posing technique—a skill that often separates strong competitors from championship-calibre athletes. Her attention to detail eventually earned her the nickname “The Posing Perfectionist,” reflecting both her precision on stage and her commitment to helping others improve their presentation.

For many athletes entering Fitness Model, Bikini, or Glamour divisions, posing is one of the most challenging aspects of competition. Kristie’s expertise has allowed numerous competitors to develop confidence before stepping under the stage lights.

Redefining What Contest Preparation Can Look Like

Perhaps the most compelling aspect of Kristie’s story is her philosophy surrounding contest preparation.

In an industry often associated with extreme calorie restriction, endless cardio sessions, and unsustainable approaches to dieting, she advocates something different.

Her focus remains on longevity, balance, and maintaining overall health while pursuing competitive excellence.

Rather than viewing bodybuilding as a short-term transformation, Kristie emphasizes creating habits that athletes can maintain well beyond competition day. It’s an approach that resonates with many women considering their first Fitness Model, Bikini, or Glamour competition, particularly those seeking a healthier relationship with training and nutrition.

Her story demonstrates that success on stage does not have to come at the expense of long-term wellbeing.

Giving Back to the Next Generation of Competitors

Kristie regularly joins UFE at their workshops to share her knowledge and insights with aspiring competitors so that they can step on stage with confidence.

Today, Kristie coaches aspiring athletes preparing for Ultimate Fitness Events competitions.

Drawing from her own experience as someone who once knew nothing about weight training or competitive fitness, she understands the uncertainty many first-time competitors feel.

She now serves as the mentor she once wished she had.

From contest preparation and nutrition guidance to posing instruction and confidence coaching, Kristie helps women navigate every stage of the competitive journey while encouraging realistic expectations and sustainable progress.

Her coaching philosophy mirrors the lessons that transformed her own life: consistency matters more than perfection, confidence is built through preparation, and remarkable achievements often begin with a single decision to start.

Why Stories Like Kristie’s Matter

Natural bodybuilding continues to grow throughout Ontario and across Canada as more athletes seek organizations that prioritize fair competition, sportsmanship, and athlete development.

Ultimate Fitness Events has become one of the country’s longest-standing drug-tested fitness organizations by providing opportunities for competitors of all experience levels—from first-time Fitness Model and Bikini athletes to seasoned professionals competing for world titles.

Kristie’s journey illustrates what many competitors discover after joining the UFE community.

Championships are memorable, but the greatest rewards often come from the discipline, confidence, friendships, and personal growth developed along the way.

For anyone considering their first bodybuilding or fitness competition in Ontario, her story is proof that champions are not always born in the gym.

Sometimes, they simply decide that today is the day they begin.
