As the world’s leading natural fitness & bodybuilding organization, UFE has adopted a tier system in order to accommodate people of all experience levels and goals. UFE offers 4 levels of competition: Novice, Open, Elite & Pro.

Novice

A great place to start for competitors of any age just looking to get into fitness and bodybuilding and who would like to experience the exhilaration of showcasing their hard work on stage with other first time competitors. Competitors must not have participated in any fitness or bodybuilding event previously.

Open

This level is open to people of all ages and experience levels who would like to participate at a competitive level at our events. First time competitors who are ready to take the plunge into competition are welcome.

Elite

This level is open to competitors who have qualified from a UFE Open level event or who have qualified from another organization (see qualification criteria below). Competitors are qualified for Elite level status for 2 years from the time they qualify.

PRO

UFE’s PRO level is the pinnacle of success in natural fitness and bodybuilding. Our PRO competitors are the best of the best natural fitness and bodybuilding competitors in the world and the prizes and industry exposure they receive are a reflection of this fact.

NOVICE LEVEL

For people of all ages with no previous competitive experience.

Information

The Novice level is open to anyone without prior competitive experience in any organization. Competitors must move on to the Open level after they have competed at the Novice level.
This is an awesome opportunity for people to get the exhilarating experience of showcasing the results of their hard work and healthy lifestyle with other first-time competitors.

Divisions within the Novice level categories:

There are no age, height or weight divisions within the NOVICE level categories.

OPEN LEVEL

Any age and experience level may participate

Information

The Open level is for competitors of all ages and all experience levels except for UFE PRO competitors (Elite level competitors ARE permitted to compete at the Open level). The Open level is a good place to start for those that are new to UFE or first time competitors that want a higher level of competition than the Novice level. Top 3 placing competitors in each Open level division will qualify to compete at the Elite level (ie: top 3 Bikini Masters 45 would qualify, as would top 3 Bikini Short, and the top 3 in every other division).

Certain events may be designated “Special PRO Qualifiers.”  At these events, the overall winners of each Open level category will earn PRO status, provided they achieve at least 85% of the maximum possible score in their category.  For example if the overall bodybuilding winner (winner of all weight classes) earns a total score of at least 34 out of 40 points (85% out of the maximum score for that category), they would earn UFE PRO status at a special PRO qualifying show.

Information

The Elite level is open to the following competitors:

  • Top 3 placing competitors at UFE’s Open level (any division)
  • PRO’s from other drug tested organizations

Competitors are qualified for Elite level status for a 2 years from the time in which they qualify (ie: someone qualifying in 2025 would be eligible until 2027). Should a competitor fail to re-qualify for Elite status in that 2 year period, they will revert to being an Open level competitor again.

Elite status is automatically renewed for 2 years when a competitor competes at the Elite level (regardless of placing) or competes at an Open level event and earns a top 3 placing in any division.

Elite level competitors are permitted to compete at the Open level as well.

Divisions within the Elite level categories:

There are no height or weight divisions within Elite level categories as we are simply looking for the best of the best competitors to move onto the Professional level. At the UFE Championships, a Masters division for men and women 40 years of age and above and a Grandmasters division for women 50 years of age and above will be featured for categories at the sole discretion of UFE.

The placings required to move onto the Pro level are the following:

  • Top 3 Elite competitors at the UFE Championships
  • 1st place Masters Elite competitors at the UFE Championships
  • 1st place Grandmasters Elite competitors at the UFE Championships
  • Top 2 Elite competitors at any other Elite level event
