You guys stood out as a competition couple after doing a couple of UFE shows together. How was it to compete together?

Competing as a couple has always been a great experience. We are both big competitors, and like performing on stage – now we get to do it together and it just enhances the experience. We feel it makes us both stronger because we feed of each others energy.

While the competition part may have been fun, how was the contest prep and to diet together? Did it present any challenges for your relationship?

Ryan: The weight training, cardio, posing practice and hard dieting all take their toll, but having a partner that motivates and encourages you makes things easier. I’ll make sure Kasia is up for a 5:30am swim and at the grocery store she’ll pull the box of croissants right out of my hands. I find it hard to imagine competing without eachother.

Describe your favorite competition experience together?

Kasia: The last show in June (SHOWDOWN) was my favourite show together. Ryan and I came in looking our best and placed really well. There were alot more challenges this time around with dieting and training, but we overcame them together. It feels amazing to stand on stage and know that your greatest supporter is right beside you, holding your hand and is as nervous as you are to hear your results.

Ryan: My favorite experience was UFE Nationals 09. We both came in leaner than ever, and qualified to compete in the night show. Kasia placed 2nd in Bikini Model and I placed 3rd in bodybuilding, both at the Elite level. I remember being very proud that we had placed that well in such an outstanding group of competitors. Two days later we left to celebrate on vacation in Mexico.

What made you both decide to do UFE and why have you continued to compete with us?

Kasia: When Ry and I first started dating I watched him compete in Halloween Mayhem. The show was huge! I instantly wanted to compete in the next show. UFE creates a great deal hype and exposure for their athletes, and they actually give you the money and prizes they promise. One thing that has kept us competing with UFE is the staff. From the organizers backstage, right up to the president Sean Everingham, you really get the feeling that they want you to feel comfortable and have a great time.

UFE has opened up so many opportunities for the two of us. In the short time we have been competing, we’ve booked tons of photo shoots, a few videos, and several magazine features. We really feel like this is just the beginning.

Will you be competing together again and, if so, where will we see you next?

We will definitely be completing together again. Look for us November 13th, 2010 at UFE Nationals in Hamilton.
