A Big Start to the Contest Season!

2013 is UFE’s biggest contest season yet and we started it out with THREE back to back events! As usual, Spring Bash drew an outstanding group of competitors who competed in front of a sold out audience! 5 of these competitors became eligible for UFE PRO status and we expect to see them at the UFE North American Championships on November 9th! The next two events were first time events for UFE. UFE Uprising in Buffalo, New York and UFE Vengeance in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan both set a new standard in these cities. Featuring the most beautiful venues and incredible stage production, our competitors were made to feel like stars. By giving the competitors in these cities the most professional stages to compete on, the events were extremely well received by both the competitors and the audience that came to cheer them on. We received some incredible feedback from these events and we look forward to returning even bigger and better in 2014! Look for the 2014 event details to be posted in the coming weeks!

UFE Showdown will be the final show of UFE’s Spring Series and will feature both an Open level show and the first Elite level show of the year in which competitors can earn UFE PRO status!! Top competitors from the first 5 shows of the year as well as top competitors from previous years and even the morning Open show will do battle in the Elite show where the top 3 competitors in each category will earn UFE PRO status and have a chance to compete for the biggest prize packages in natural fitness on “the grandest stage of them all” at the UFE North American Championships! Upgraded Venues, More Locations and UFE Goes International in 2014!

UFE’s mission has been to put natural fitness at the forefront of the fitness industry by hosting the most highly produced and professional events at some of the top venues for our competitors to compete at. Being a relative newcomer to the industry required that UFE expanded carefully and, in some cases, this meant hosting a couple of our shows in modest venues. However, next year competitors can look forward to even better venues and higher production for their competition experience. Michigan will be the first of our established events to move into a beautiful new venue in 2014.

To realize our goal, UFE also needs to have a bigger and bigger base of competitors in which to draw from so that we truly are getting the best of the best competitors on our stage. With that said, UFE will be adding 3 more shows to our schedule next year including Calgary, Ottawa and our first international event in Birmingham, England! We are very excited about 2014 and giving everyone more details and updates regarding these new events, new venues and some changes coming to UFE as a result of becoming an international fitness organization!

UFE PRO Bikini Champion, Erica Willick Keeps Up Her Oxygen Streak!

Erica Willick began her path to dominance in the fitness industry beginning with UFE Halloween Mayhem last year where she won the Bikini category and earned PRO status. She followed that up with a huge win in the PRO Bikini category at the UFE North American Championships where she also took home a prize package worth $15,000. But that’s not all. Erica has also been featured in every issue of Oxygen this year and the magazine loves her! And why shouldn’t they? In addition to looking fabulous, Erica is a full time corporate accountant, mother to a beautiful little boy and a dedicated wife. She also serves as an inspiration to an exponentially growing legion of women as the founder of Sisters in Shape. We wish Erica continuing success and look forward to seeing this representative of “girl power” defend her title at the UFE North American Championships in November!

UFE Fury in Chicago to Become the USA’s First PRO Qualifying Event!

(March 17, 2013) UFE Fury in Chicago drew the biggest number of competitors that UFE has ever had in a first time event. The caliber was also fantastic. Chicago showed some potential. At the same time, UFE wanted to provide a way for competitors from the USA to qualify for PRO status without having to come to Canada to do so, so we put out there that if UFE Fury was big enough in 2013, then we would make this event our first ever US PRO qualifier the following year. Our American competitors have responded in a BIG way as the event is on track to being a HUGE one, so we are very excited to announce that we will officially be making UFE Fury our first PRO qualifier in the USA. This event will give competitors the opportunity to compete at the UFE North American Championships on the grandest stage of them all for prize packages worth over $15,000 including cash, sponsorship contracts, photo shoots, guaranteed magazine exposure and more! (March 17, 2013) Have you picked up the April issue of Oxygen Magazine that’s on newsstands now? Once again, UFE is proudly represented by some of our best Professional level competitors in this issue. Zoe Mayol was our 2012 PRO Fitness Model Champion and, as such, was selected for a national marketing campaign that guaranteed her exposure in the pages of the #1 women’s fitness magazine. Check out her full page spread in this issue. Brianna Mogg, who has been tearing it up in the industry as of late, appears in her second straight issue as part of a multi-page training spread! (March 14, 2013) UFE PRO Bikini Champion, Erica Willick, is rising to incredible heights in the fitness industry. Since starting her competition career with UFE, this ambitious woman has founded a women’s competition resource site called Sisters in Shape (www.sisinshape.com) which has been growing exponentially almost every week. She has also appeared in SIX straight issues of Oxygen Magazine and is en route to becoming one of the magazine’s major stars. Now, the champ is featured in a multi-page spread in the latest issue of Physique Magazine. The incredible shots of Erica were captured by Chris V. Linton, who happens to be a regular fixture in the media row at our events. Featured Athlete – Brianna Mogg

Brianna Mogg is the definition of hard work. People do fitness competitions for many reasons. Some people do it for fun others do it because they enjoy competition, but few take the competition as seriously as Brianna. With laser focus, she can be found in the gym on early mornings, the meals she has prepared can be spotted on Instagram…and she can sometimes be found in the gym again later in the day. This is not a chore for her, this is a lifestyle she enjoys. She doesn’t purge her body for 12 or 14 weeks before a show only to gorge herself immediately following; she lives the lifestyle day in and day out. Her perseverance, determination and laser focus has earned her top placings in all of the shows she has competed in; it earned her a place among UFE’s PRO division, the pinnacle of success in the fitness industry; and it earned her a HUGE debut in Oxygen Magazine (which you can pick up on news stands now). In addition, her passion for UFE also earned her a spot in UFE’s international marketing campaign which also happens to be featured as a full page ad in Oxygen Magazine’s March 2013 issue.

As with the other athletes we have featured on our site, we thought it would be interesting for people to get to know a little bit more about this phenomenal fitness competitor so we asked Brianna some questions that we thought would be of interest:

What got you started in fitness and what eventually led to you competing?

I was always very athletic as a child and started weight training at the age of 14 to try and improve my volleyball game. I think it was just natural that I continued being active after high school. I always had a love for strength and the ability to do things others couldn’t. I joined a gym where they were looking for trainers and immediately got a job. As for competing, I never really took it into consideration until I went to one of UFE’s shows, Halloween Mayhem 2011. It was then when I sat back and thought… Can’t I do this? It was just perfect timing with everything that was going on in my life.

What made you choose to compete in the Fitness Model division and what do you like about it?

When I started training for my first show I wasn’t too sure how muscular I was going to become, especially because I was training myself. I decided to enter two categories at first: bikini and fitness model. I placed higher in the fitness model category so I decided to stick with that division and just improve my physique. I’m glad I did because I love how the fitness model category has the sexiness of bikini and still some of the muscle tone of figure.

Why do you compete with UFE and would you recommend it to others?

First off, I love UFE. This organization has helped me build what I am today. But why did I choose UFE to begin with? I heard nothing but good things from other competitors. The backstage energy is high and there’s no cattiness. All competitors are extremely friendly; we even cheer each other on. The caliber of the top competitors is the highest I’ve seen, and not to mention it’s drug-free. I’ve been tested twice.

You are becoming known for your extreme ab development. How many times per week do you train them and what are your 3 favorite exercises?

Haha, I love my abs. My top 3 favorite exercises are incline crunches, hanging leg raises and oblique extensions (on the back extension machine). I like to target them from all angles. You’d be surprised at how many times I train them per week. At most I would say I do 3 direct ab workouts. However, whenever I do any other exercise (i.e. squats, lunges, and push-ups) I try to make sure I fully engage my abs at all times.

Do you take any supplements leading up to a competition and, if so, which ones do you use?

I started off with just taking in protein after every workout. However, by my last show I also incorporated L-Carnatine and BCAA’s.

What was it like to see yourself published in Oxygen Magazine?

It was so surreal! It really was/is a dream come true. It was actually on the top of my bucket list to be published in a fitness magazine. Then to have that magazine be Oxygen, wow. I can’t express how proud and thankful I am to UFE for the exposure and experience to work with Oxygen.

If you had one piece of advice for an up and coming competitor, what would it be?

Train hard, eat clean and visualize your goal.

If you push yourself to your limits every time you will never be disappointed with your outcome.

UFE PRO Fitness Model, Brianna Mogg Makes Waves in Oxygen Magazine!

In just one week, pick up the March ‘13 issue of Oxygen Magazine and find UFE PRO Fitness Model, Brianna Mogg throughout! Not only is she a credited contributor of the issue, but she is also featured as part of UFE’s multi-national marketing campaign in a full page ad AND a 3 page “Fat Blast” article!
Brianna started competing with UFE just last year, but her extreme work ethic and dedication paid off, resulting in her earning a UFE PRO card. It was at UFE Showdown, the show in which Brianna earned her PRO card, that industry legend, Glen Grant spotted her and caught some outstanding shots. Seeing that Brianna was a perfect ambassador for UFE and a great representation of our organization, UFE President, Sean Everingham then approached Oxygen with shots of Brianna and the rest is becoming history as Brianna sees her industry star rise!
